It's Cooling Down

Image
Helloooooo, it's feeling very "fallish" here. I'm still able to put the laundry out on the line, so I'm very thankful. There is something lovely about having a drawer full of fresh clean clothes. It also feels really good to see about 20-30 off our electric bill. As it gets colder, and the weather starts to change it gets a little trickier to try and get them to dry. We have a woodstove to heat our home, so this winter I'll wash clothes at night and hang them in the house to dry. It's pretty simple, I was them at night before bed, hang them around the house. I get up in the morning and take them down, fold, sort, and put them away. All free!                        REFLECTION Yesterday,  I was at a meeting at friend's house and on the way home, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted this beautiful pond with the surrounded by woods. It was fascinating,  and looked " picture worthy". I stopped the car, and had to ...

The Path Back To Home

Image
On our way back home from our walk around the farm. I stopped to take a look around, and snapped a few photos. It's a beautiful little path with various saplings on either side. They are so vibrant this year, and it's nice just to get enjoy it. This time of year for the past 5 years, my life had been a full schedule. This year I'm slowing things down a bit, and taking time to enjoy the leaves.  I hope you get the chance to enjoy this seasons colors, they are fantastic!  Much love!

Over Or Under The Weather, Not Sure Which

Image
Things have been kind of quiet around here. It's nice to have days like that, a day you do very little, especially when you are feeling a little under the weather. It allows you time  to sit and reflect, do some reading, or meditation. I almost feel as if I was on a vacation, but really I was just living my life, a little under the weather.  I've been watching the leaves change a little more each day, however, this year they seem to be taking a little longer. I'm thinking it's the warmer fall we are experiencing this year. This is the path that I walk just about everyday. It's so beautiful,  it has a mixture of small saplings from different varieties of trees. They are growing at a fast pace, just 2 years ago they looked like weeds.  Their leaves are vibrant and full. I haven't done a ton of cooking the last few days, I've been mostly using the crock pot for meals. I love using the slow cooker, you can make quite a bit of food at a time, and have l...

CHORES

Image
We spent the day yesterday doing chores, school work, and just enjoying ourselves. It's a beautiful intentional way of life. My DD carved a pumpkin, she loves doing creative stuff. I love watching her...lol We seperated the seeds, so we can roast them tomorrow for a snack, we will put the rest in the compost. We try to use up everything,  if we can't- we share, with our animals, friends, or compost pile. :-) Yesterday's banana bread, and stuffing casserole turned out wonderfully delicious . Definitely fall comfy food, at it finest.  We have homeschool activities  to attend to today and tomorrow.  I laugh out loud,  when people say, "But what about socialization?? " It's  always enjoyable to get together with fellow humans, on the same road as us.  I hope this day finds everyone doing well... Enjoy, Embrace, and Excel Blessings,  M

Success

Image
The definition of success is different for everyone. Some define it as millions in the bank, and others in many variety of ways. I don't think either are wrong, it's all a matter of perspective.  I have this saying I  use when someone questions me about my lifestyle, who is not really curious, you can tell they are just being judgemental. I say, " you do you, and I do me... I love and accept you for who you are now let me be. " It usually completely changes the conversation in a more postive direction. I love non-confrontational communication... The temperature has really dropped here, we had our first frost last night, and I  started lit the first fire of the season in the woodstove, to take the chill off in here. The Mums had a nice layer of frost on them, and by the time I finished hanging the laundry, it had melted into a heavy dew. You can't see it in the photo, however, the Mum's are so vibrant and full, I wanted to share a photo of them with you...

Synchcronicity Abounds

Image
And so it happens again... Synchronicity, no matter how many times a series of numbers, song, or people, appear in my reality it still completely leaves me in awe. "Awe", is really the only word  closest I can  use to describe how I feel. I know how things work in this universe, so I'm not ignorant of why it occurs, I still just marvel at it every time. The numbers, 333, 11:11, and a very special number to me 7:17 reoccur, without fail all day, everyday, and have for quite some time. Does anyone else have this happen to them, please feel free to comment... It's really feeling like fall here now, I've contemplated building the first fire of the season, just to take out the chill. It gets a little damp in here sometimes, and a little fire is just the solution to take that out. When the temperature  outside turns real cold, we'll have a regular fire going in the woodstove. I love fresh raw veggies and such, but when I have a fire going, I crave warm comfo...

Winds Of Change And Challenge

How fast change can happen! There's a chill in the air and it happend very quickly. 80's to 30's over a few hours. This feels more like fall temperatures. I still hung the clothes, because the day time temperatures are expected to reach the upper 50's. While listening to the birds this morning, I couldn't help but smile, and appreciate their morning songs, they are like the singers of the Earth. They create such wonderful little songs, that are pleasing and soothing to the soul. I marvel at things like that. I'm going to make some soup and homemade corn bread, ground from organic dried corn, all this to welcome the start of the cooler fall temperatures. The salsa and beans I made yesterday, turned out delicious. I'm sitting in my rocking chair I bought my father for Father's day last year, writing this blog post.  It's an antique handmade wooden rocker, that I find so comfy. I have it deliberately postioned so I can look out my front door. The ...
